Edwards Lowell launches new watch brand – A. Lange & Söhne

Saxon timepieces date back to 1845

Local watch lovers have been waiting years to acquire these exclusive timepieces from Dresden. Renowned in the watch industry and beyond, A. Lange & Söhne has, for several generations, pursued one goal: to craft timepieces that are at the pinnacle of international haute horlogerie.

With 51 manufactory calibers, A. Lange & Söhne has attained a leading position among the world’s best watch brands in little more than 20 years. Today, Lange only produces a few thousand watches each year. All are made from gold or platinum, and powered exclusively by watch movements that have been developed in-house and assembled by hand.

A. Lange & Söhne has long sponsored the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este – a prestigious competition for classic automobiles and futuristic concept cars held in spring at Lake Como. This year a special model of the Lange 1 Time Zone was created exclusively for the winner of the Concorso and  showcased together with Frank Stella’s 1976 BMW Art Car 02.

A. Lange & Söhne’s greatest successes include innovative time-keeping instruments such as the Lange 1 with the first outsize date in a series produced wristwatch, as well as the Zeitwerk with its supremely legible, precisely jumping numerals. Local watch aficionados can now view these two iconic models, as well as other special masterpieces, at the  A. Lange & Söhne corner within the Edwards Lowell boutique in St Julian’s.
