Air Malta to operate charter flights to seven UK regional airports

Flights to Birmingham, Cardiff, Bristol, Exeter, Newcastle, Norwich and Glasgow airports.

Air Malta will again operate weekly charter flights to and from seven regional airports in the UK this summer, between May and October.

In line with demand and operations in previous years, Air Malta will operate charter flights to and from Birmingham and Cardiff with two flights every week on Tuesdays and Fridays, and weekly flights on Tuesdays to and from Bristol, Exeter, Newcastle, Norwich and Glasgow airports.

These charter flights increase accessibility to the islands from regional UK airports offering travellers the opportunity to travel out and back from their nearest home airport. Such flights also attract the interest of the Maltese traveller to visit family and friends in various cities in the United Kingdom.

The operation of such regional services was made possible thanks to the support received from tour operators and travel trade partners in the areas.

Philip Saunders, Chief Commercial Officer said: "Air Malta is building on its position in the UK as a leader in the market to Malta. Our summer charter operations further confirms the airline's commitment to boost incoming tourism to Malta from the UK, and to bring Malta closer to UK regional airports. These flights also make it much easier for the Maltese market to visit British regions."

Air Malta operates such charter services as a supplement to the regular scheduled services to/from Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester, and likewise offers 20kgs for checked in baggage and up to 10Kgs as hand luggage allowance for each passenger. Seats are available also for sale via the airline's portal www.airmalta.com and via the international Call-Centre on 00356 21 66 22 11.

Air Malta always used to supplement their scheduled services with charter flights during the summer months and to many more UK cities than these ,but had to shut them down as "they were unsustainable and not financially viable".However, they will have to offer very competitive fares for these routings not to go the way of the others ...so let's see!
