New Air Malta website ‘boosts visitors and bookings’

Air Malta's new website yesterday registered a record number of bookings, the national airline says.

According to the national airline Air Malta, its new website has registered an increase of 50% in tickets sold over the same day last week - a record figure since 2002 - when it launched its first internet booking engine. "Yesterday, the site's unique visitors also increased by 60% to over 21,000 visitors compared to the same day last week," Air Malta said in a statement.

To celebrate the launch of the new website, Air Malta launched a 25% discount special offer on all the airline's published fares. This promotion is available until today at 11:59pm. Tickets purchased through this offer are valid for travel between 01st April and 30th June 2013. Certain conditions may apply.

Air Malta said the new website reflected its mission to be "an ambassador and guide" for Malta.

"The website includes a major overhaul to both the flight selection process and user experience. The site takes advantage of the latest cloud technology and is built for scalability and resilience. It is a further milestone in the airline's efforts to restructure operations and to build a platform for an improved customer experience."
