Elderly man suffers serious injuries after crashing into tree

Police say the incident happened around 5pm

An 87-year-old man was seriously injured after crashing his car into a tree on Sunday afternoon.

According to initial investigations, the man, a resident of Lija, was driving a BMW 325 when he crashed into a tree in Triq in-Nutar Zarb, Attard.

The victim received assistance from the Civil Protection Department and a medical team. He was taken to hospital and certified with serious injuries.

Police investigations are still ongoing.
