Boy dies after drowning in a pool in Marsaxlokk

A four-year-old boy who fell into a private swimming pool in Marsaxlokk on Tuesday died at Mater Dei Hospital on Sunday

The incident took place at around 11:45am last Tuesday, at a private residence in Triq il-Port Ruman, Marsaxlokk.

The boy was found unresponsive after being pulled from the water by people who were at the property at the time.

Police and a medical team from Mater Dei Hospital attended the scene immediately. The boy was taken to hospital by ambulance, where he was certified to be in a critical condition.

Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia was informed of the case and opened an inquiry.

A magisterial inquiry and a police investigation into the incident are still ongoing.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
