Woman hospitalised after construction material falls onto car

A woman was rushed to hospital after construction materials fell from a tower crane and hit her car windscreen while she was driving through St Julian’s.

Police confirmed to MaltaToday the accident happened while the 50-year-old woman from San Ġwann was driving her Chevrolet Lacetti next to a construction site on Birkirkara Road.

The report was received at approximately 10:45am on Friday, however the police noted that the incident likely occurred earlier.

Her condition is still unknown.

Investigations by the police and the Occupational Health & Safety Authority are ongoing.
