Police arrest man in Gozo over suspected drug trafficking

A man was arrested in Gozo in connection to drug trafficking after he was found in possession of suspected cocaine, cannabis, and other drug-related items including a digital scale and large amounts of cash.

The 37-year-old Albanian man was arrested in Żebbuġ on Tuesday night after police received reports of suspicious activity involving a vehicle on Triq Ulisse.

Officers who went to the scene spotted the man as he was about to enter the vehicle, before stopping the car and arresting him.

The man is being held in custody and is expected to be brought before the court on Thursday morning before Magistrate Jean Paul Grech.
