Police detain 108 people living in Malta illegally

Inspections were carried out in areas including Marsa and Ħamrun

The police have detained 108 people found to be living in Malta illegally during inspections carried out over the course of the week.

The individuals were held during checks carried out by the Immigration Police and the Community Police in a number of localities, including Marsa and Ħamrun.

The 108 people came from a range of different countries, including European, Asian and African nations.

Police were assisted by officers from the Detention Services Agency.
