17 irregular migrants detained in Marsaskala

Police arrested 17 Syrian nationals during inspections in Marsaskala after they were found to be living in Malta irregularly.

All 17 are being held at a detention centre pending repatriation.

The inspections were carried out with the Detention Services Agency.

The police affirmed that it will continue conducting targeted inspections across the islands to tackle irregular migration, abuse of labour laws, and the exploitation of these individuals.
