Man suffers serious injuries after crashing into tree

A 36-year-old man suffered serious injuries after losing control of his car and crashing into a tree in Floriana.

Police were called to Triq Nazzjonali at around 2am on Saturday where preliminary investigations found that the man had lost control of his Ford Kuga before crashing into the tree.

Members of the Civil Protection Department and a medical team assisted at the scene.

The man was taken by ambulance to Mater Dei Hospital, where he was later certified as having suffered serious injuries.

Magistrate Monica Borg Galea was appointed to lead an inquiry.

Police investigations are ongoing.
