WATCH | St Julian's shooting: Police officer in critical condition, armed suspect holed up in building
One police officer is fighting for his life and another is grievously injured after the suspect shot toward authorities

Police are currently responding to a situation in St Julian's where shots have been fired and two police officers were hit.
The incident was sparked after an individual set fire to a scaffolding structure where workers were present.
One police officer from the Special Intervention Unit is in critical condition after being shot in the face and neck, as he is currently in surgery. Another police officer is greviously hurt.

Police say that one suspect is in police custody while another is engaged in a standoff.

The Civil Protection Department are present at the scene, and drones and flashbangs have been used.
The suspect which remains at large is surrounded by police and is being ordered to surrender.
Duty Magistrate Joe Mifsud is currently on-site.
