Two hospitalised following St Paul’s Bay traffic accident

A 65-year-old woman from St Paul’s Bay and a 75-year-old man from Mellieħa were rushed to Mater Dei Hospital after being involved in a traffic accident in Burmarrad Road, St Paul’s Bay.

The accident happened at about 11am on Monday.

Police said initial investigations found the woman was driving a Toyota Funcargo when she lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn onto its side.

The two were assisted by members of the Civil Protection Department and a medical team before being taken to hospital by ambulance.

The woman was certified as suffering light injuries, while the man was certified as suffering serious injuries.

Police investigations into the accident are ongoing.
