Nigerian conditionally discharged after Marsa brawl
Court conditionally dischargse a Nigerian national charged with fighting at Marsa Open Centre
18-year-old Nigerian national Godwin Frank, was conditionally discharged after pleading guilty to injuring a fellow migrant at the Marsa Open Centre.
Inspector Spiridione Zammit explained how at around 8:30 pm on 12 August, an argument erupted between two migrants inside the open centre.
This escalated into a fight during which the accused punched Soumalia Issa in the face. Issa suffered a fractured nose.
Magistrate Antonio Micallef Trigona handed the accused a 12-month conditional discharge and warned the Nigerian not to get involved in any brawls.
Lawyer Yana Micallef Stafrace appeared for the accused.
