American man charged with theft

Court remands in custody an american man charged with stealing a handbag from inside a vehicle

American national Stephen Francis Galli was this afternoon remanded in custody after denying charges of theft from a vehicles in St Julian’s.

The 49-year-old man was accused of having stolen a handbag from inside a parked Volkswagen belonging to Pamela Baldacchino. The incident happened in the afternoon of 16 February this year. Galli was seen committing the theft by CCTV cameras. He was also charged with relapsing.

Hearing the accused plead not guilty to the charges, Magistrate Ian Farrugia remanded him in custody.
