Man charged over possession of drugs

Kevin Spiteri, 32 of Gzira was remanded in custody after denying charges of being in possession of three different kinds of drugs.

Prosecuting inspector Herman Mula told the court that on Friday police officers found cannabis, cocaine and heroin in the accused’s possession.

Spiteri was charged with being in possession of cannabis in circumstances showing it was not for personal use, simple possession of cocaine and heroin, and relapsing. The man pleaded not guilty.

Defence counsel Charmaine Cherrett requested bail, which was denied by Magistrate Neville Camilleri.

The court ordered that Spiteri is kept under preventive custody.
