Heroin, cocaine found at Marsa stables during drug raid

Number of persons being held • Drug raid carried out after weeks of investigations

Heroin, cocaine and cannabis were found during a drug raid carried out in a number of horse stables in Marsa.

The raid was carried out by the anti-drug squad and members of the Rapid Intervention Unit assisted by district police and the police dogs sections following weeks of observation and investigations. The drugs were sniffed out and located by the police dogs.

A number of persons are being held for questioning and assisting the police in its investigation.

Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera appointed a number of experts to assist in the inquiry.

The persons may be arraigned in court in the coming days.
