Man arrested over drug find

Early Friday morning, the police carried out investigations at a residence in Xaghra, Gozo as part of the Police Anti-Drug Squad’s investigations into drug trafficking in Gozo.

A substantial amount of what is suspected to be cannabis and cocaine were found on the residence. A 53-year-old Xaghra resident has been arrested in connection with the case.

The man was arraigned in court yesterday afternoon, where he was accused of having extensive amounts of cannabis and cocaine, which do not appear to be for personal use in his possession.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the accusations and he has been remanded in custody.
