A three-year-old Austrlian girl was hospitalised on Friday night after she fell off a swing that has been erected in St George’s Square, Valletta.

Police said that the accident occured at around 8pm.

The girl’s parents had first taken her to a nearby health centre, but she later had to be transferred to Mater Dei for treatment.

The swings, that have been erected in St George’s Square for the Malta International Arts Festival, are equipped with motion sensors so that music is played when the child sitting on them swings.
