Alternattiva Demokratika chairperson Michael Briguglio, who is contesting the 10th District, also made his appearance at the Naxxar Counting Halls ahead of the sorting of votes.

Speaking to MaltaToday, Briguglio said that while an increase in its vote share would be a "satisfactory result", AD's aim remains "to win a seat in parliament."

He said that an increase in votes would be a sign that there is "space" for a third party in the Maltese political scene, and that its chances are steadily improving.
