RAF Tornado makes emergency landing at MIA

Yet another Royal Air Force Tornado fighter jet has made an emergency landing at Malta International Airport.

Residents in Attard, Zebbug, Qormi and Luqa woke up to the sonic boom of the RAF Tornado as it approached Gudja at 06:30am.

The fighter jet - involved in operations over Libya - requested an emergency landing after reportedly running out of fuel at dawn.

This is the second RAF Tornado to make an emergency landing at MIA in the space of a week.

Numerous French Mirage-Dassault and USAF F-16's have already made emergency landings over the past weeks.
