Muscat under increased guard after potential threats by Charles Muscat aka il-Pips

Labour Leader Joseph Muscat and family under increased police security after reports of potential threats from former Cordin inmate Charles Muscat, also known as il-Pips.

Weekly newspaper Illum reveals how the police guard was prompted by a report which was lodged only hours after Muscat questioned how the former prisoner was released from prison before the termination of his 25-year-old sentence.

Subsequently, the report says, police stepped up protection around the Labour leader and his family after what potentially could have been interpreted as threatening comments in his regard made by Muscat.

Illum cites source as having said that following Joseph Muscat’s statements, Il-Pips insisted on having a face to face meeting with the Labour leader.

When that meeting was not granted, the sources said that il-Pips was heard saying that he would seek out Muscathimself, Illum reports.
