Paola council agrees with name change to Gaddafi Gardens
The Paola local council said it shares thoughts expressed by junior minister Jason Azzopardi to change the name of Gaddafi Gardens in Paola.
“The council had discussed this sensitive issue over a month ago and we will communicate our decision when we take it,” the council said in a statement.
In a letter to the Paola council, Azzopardi, an MP on the fourth district, said that in view of developments in Libya and as a sign of respect and solidarity with Libyans, with whom Malta had always had close relations, he proposed the immediate renaming of the gardens.
