Man dies, two admitted to Mater Dei in separate incidents

A 20 year-old cyclist from Luqa died shortly after being admitted to hospital after he was hit by a car, while an 18-year-old suffered  a gunshot wound, and a 43-year-old man  fell a flight of stairs in an apartment.

The police's communication office (CMRU) has confirmed that an 18-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound was admitted to Mater Dei.

Preliminary reports reveal that the boy could have been injured accidentally with an air gun at his home. MaltaToday is informed the incident happened in Naxxar.

Meanwhile, a 43-year-old man fell off the stairs of an apartment in Triq l-Gharghar, Mellieha. Police sources have confirmed the man is in danger of losing his life.

In a separate incident  a 20-year-old man died after he was involved in a traffic accident in Valletta Road, Luqa. The man, who was driving a motorised bicycle, crashed head-on into a Toyota Avensis.
