FACE writes to Gonzi offering 'help' in seeking derogation on bird trapping
Hunters’ Federation (FKNK) said that it has taken the initiative to request FACE to help the Maltese government apply a derogation for trapping this Autumn.
In a statement, the FKNK said that FACE Med president Giovanni Bana has written to Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi offering his assistance.
The federation said that it has asked the Mediterranean branch of FACE to assist the Maltese government in its position with the European Commission to obtain a derogation on trapping.
The FKNK said that the derogation should be granted to Malta on the same basis that other EU member states countries’, especially in the Mediterranean.
