Father and son involved in accident in Qormi

Police were called to a private road in an area known as “tal-Bonc” located in Qormi at 16:30 today where an accident resulted in two men being taken to Mater Dei hospital.

Following investigations, it was found that a 46-year old father and his son of 17 were working in a cesspit in the area. Both were found unconscious but the reason is still unknown.

They were immediately taken to Mater Dei by an ambulance called to the scene.

Both residents of Qormi, the 17-year old has reportedly died whilst his father is in critical condition.

Police magistrate Doreen Clarke was informed of the accident and experts have been called in to assist in the inquiry.

Police investigations are still ongoing.
