Police investigating arson in Zejtun

Late yesterday evening at around 11:30pm, the Police were informed of a fire in Triq il-Madonna tal-Hniena, Zejtun.

The Police found a door to a private residence on fire. At the time of the incident a man and a woman, aged 67 and 63 respectively, were in the residence.

Members of the Civil Protection Department were called to take the couple out of the house. An ambulance was called and took them to Mater Dei Hospital for further observation.

The two did not suffer any injuries.

Police also reported that a Mercedes Benz which was parked in the same road suffered minimum damages in the fire.

Police investigation is ongoing.
