71 arrested in immigration inspections across Malta and Gozo
Immigration inspections carried out by police find 71 people living in Malta irregularly

71 people have been arrested in immigration inspections taking place across Malta and Gozo.
Police and officials from the Detention Services Agency found them to be living in Malta irregularly.
The inspections took place in a number of localities including Gozo’s Marsalforn, Xlendi, and Rabat, along with Marsa in Malta.
The individuals were from Nigeria, Liberia, Albania, Somalia, Nepal, Ghana, India, Syria, Ethiopia, Kenya, Gambia, Mali, Pakistan, Burkina Faso, Egypt, Guinea, and Ivory Coast.
They are currently being held at a detention centre waiting to be returned to their countries of origin.
