Stop order issued after wall collapses at Xemxija construction site
Remedial works are underway to repair the wall separating the site from neighbouring properties
A wall at a construction site on Xemxija Hill collapsed after it was struck by a truck transporting machinery, the Occupational Health and Safety Authority (OHSA) and the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) said.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the authorities said they immediately ordered all works at the site to stop following the accident.
Precautionary remedial works will continue to repair the wall separating the construction site from neighbouring third-party properties.
No one was injured, and the debris was removed from the pavement.
The authorities reminded the public to report construction site or occupational health and safety concerns through Helpline 138 so they can be investigated without delay.
