Firefighters extinguish garage fire in Żebbuġ

Firefighters and members of the Civil Protection Department were deployed to Żebbuġ after a structure fire broke out at a street-level garage.

The Civil Protection Department confirmed that the fire involved vehicles fitted with internal combustion engines (ICE).

Firefighters from Stations 1, 3, 4, 5 and 8 located and extinguished the blaze. Cooling and ventilation procedures are ongoing to ensure the premises are made safe.

Nearby residents were evacuated as a precautionary measure while the operation continued.

The Civil Protection Department is being assisted by a medical team from the Emergency Department at Mater Dei Hospital, Transport Malta and police officers from the 6th District.
