The Food Safety and Security Authority (FSSA) issued a warning on a seed mix by SuperValu since it may be contaminated with Salmonella.

People who consume Salmonella typically develop symptoms between six to 72 hours after infection.

The most common symptom is diarrhoea, which can sometimes be bloody. In some cases, diarrhoea can be severe enough to require hospital admission. Other symptoms include fever, headache, and abdominal cramps.

Once contracted, the illness lasts between four and seven days. However, the elderly, infants, and people with an impaired immune system are more likely to develop severe illness.

For these reasons, consumers are advised not to consume the product and either dispose of it or return it to the store from which it was purchased.
