The Nationalist Party has announced its Independence Day celebration events.

The events will take place at Floriana’s granaries between 18 and 20 September to commemorate the 62nd year since Malta’s independence. The PN stated that, “after an absence of eight years, it was fitting for the celebrations to return to their natural home, close to the area where Malta achieved independence in 1964.”

On the eve of Independence Day, PN Leader Alex Borg will address a mass meeting.

PN Secretary General Charles Bonello announced the events on NET TV on Tuesday evening, explaining that the festivities will take place over three days.

“Alongside the political activities and discussions, the Indifest entertainment programme will once again be held every evening throughout the three days, with activities for the whole family,” the party explained.

Charles Bonello explained the programme will feature musical activities, discussions and a dedicated children’s area, as well as entertainment on the main stage every evening, with food and drink stalls set up across the granaries.

“The annual Independence Run, organised by Tim Sport Partit Nazzjonalista, will also take place. On the eve of Independence Day, a wreath will be laid at the foot of the Independence Monument before the day’s activities begin.”
