Malta’s Hindu community will once again celebrate Krishna Janmashtami at the General Workers’ Union (GWU) building in Valletta.

The event will be open to everyone, regardless of religion, culture, or background, and will include cultural performances and a free meal.

The celebration will take place on Sunday 6 September from 4pm onward.

In recent months, the GWU has been expanding its outreach in the TCN community as a rising number of struggling foreign workers turn to the union for assistance.

"On behalf of the General Workers’ Union, Satya Sanatana Dharma Sabha," the GWU's TCN Liaison Officer Manav Sanger said.

During an interview with MaltaToday last month, the union's secretary general, Kevin Camilleri acknowledged that there are many challenges the union must tackle to ensure that TCNs are able to live and work in a just manner in Malta.
