Majority of MPs oppose firework prohibition
Proposal for fireworks ban floated by Labour MP Anton Refalo rejected by majority of MPs.
Gozitan MP Anton Refalo proposed a ban on fireworks following blast at factory in Gharb, Gozo.
The majority of MPs oppose the idea floated by Labour MP Anton Refalo to ban fireworks completely.
Refalo's proposal came days after last Sunday's firework factory explosion in Gharb, Gozo in which four men died.

He said that Maltese politicians should shoulder some responsability in the fatalities caused by firework explosions and stresses that the situation was never controlled adequately because of electoral exigencies.
