Government hires new consultant for €6,000 without call for applications on same day that it loses majority in parliament.

Resources and Rural Affairs Minister George Pullicino's ministry hires consultant on same day as government collapses without open call for applications.
On the very same day that the Government collapsed when Nationalist MP Franco Debono voted against the budget, the Ministry of Resources and Rural Affairs hired a new consultant without having first issued a public call.
Weekly newspaper Illum reports that the consultant, Mario Pandolfino, who is retied, will be given a pay packet amounting to €6,000 for 36 weeks of work which he supposedly should deliver.
According to the Ministry, Pandolfino will be assisting in the restoration of the Ministry's Building Regulations office thanks to his experience.
According to the report, the Ministry is defending the move by insisting that Pandolfino's employment "is not a hiring" but a "contract for service", and is insisting that this did not require a call for applications.
The ministry also confirmed that the contract came into force on 10 December, the same day that Government lost its majority in parliament.

Is this the reason why Dr Gonzi did not dissolve parliament so that he can continue with his'Carry on GonziPN croony politics'during the festive season?. After 25 years of same people in Government it is only sane to vote these people out: at least for five year! I just can't stand their patronizing arrogance any more!

Again I ask, So what is new? Thank God for good reporters and investigative reporters and on the whole the Media in general. Only God knows what goes on behind our backs and sometimes I wonder about that too. Politicians are slick, and that is why they are called politicians. Thank you Ms Julia Farrugia. Politics and politicians, they go hand in hand.

What the hell.s wrong with all these people that run this country? Why do they need these expensive consultants. If we took a job and had to pay a consultant to tell us how to do that job,it means that we are not fit to do the job. The same should go for all the members of parliament.

Dan veru sur Ombudsman? Dak li qed ighid il-Ministru George Pullicino tahseb loi hu korrett? Ma thossx li ghandek tibda investigazzjoni halli tara jekk l-ghemil amministrattiv tal-Ministru Pullicino hux wiehed korrett? Jekk il-fatt li ghandek id-dritt li taghtik il-ligi stess, biex tibda investigazzjoni mhux bizzejjed, qed nitolbok biex tinvestiga u dan mill-aktar fis.
