MCAST officially recognises Pulse as student society

Student organisation Pulse recognised by MCAST as a student society to represent MCAST students.

Pulse has been officially recognised by the MCAST Board of Governors as a student society that can work and represent students in the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology.

"Such development in the organisation's history makes it the first recognised student society working among MCAST students, apart from the Students' Council established in the College structures," Pulse secretary general Ryan Spagnol said.

Pulise had first expressed its interest to set up a branch at MCAST in August 2011. The organisation went on to elect an MCAST coordinator in its executive board. Following the publication of the respective guidelines for applicant organisations, Pulse submitted the actual documentation attached to hundreds of MCAST students' signatures supporting the entry.

Pulse is now available at all MCAST institutes through elected coordinator, including the Gozo campus.

"We hope that our new contribution will start to evolve a history of student activism in MCAST as well. The branch will promote stronger student participation in the representation structures of MCAST. It will also be addressing issues which may be affecting the quality of education while raising awareness on a number of ongoing social and economic issues," Spagnol said.
