Private company opens private hospital in Qormi

Caring First invests €5 million in Qormi private hospital to open in six months’ time.

Health Minister Joe Cassar this morning visited a private hospital in Qormi which will open within six months.

St Thomas Hospital, owned by Caring First, is in Valletta Road and will hold 30 beds, two operating theatres, 13 outpatient clinics, an ophthalmology section and a Radiology Department equipped with digital apparatus.

According to Caring First Director and former Labour MP Louis Buhagiar, the hospital is also equipped with a CT scanner, co-financed by European Union's ERDF.

Buhagiar said the hospital saw an investment of €5 million.

Health Minister Joe Cassar welcomed the investment carried out by Caring First, saying it reflected trust in the country's economy.
