Libya seeks support from Maltese Health System
Physiotherapy and public health amongst priority areas identified
A high level meeting was held today at the Ministry for Health between the Health Minister Dr. Godfrey Farrugia and Dr. Mohamed Asiad Arrezaghi, Director for Primary Care Services in Libya.
Asiad Arrezaghi expressed Libya's desire to seek support from the Malta Health System through the provision of technical assistance and training that will help in the sustainable development of the Libyan Health System.
Primary Care, Immunisation, Physiotherapy and Public Health were identified as priority areas for the Libyan Government.
Farrugia expressed the Maltese Government's willingness to support the Libyan Government in its endeavours to develop capacity of its Primary Care health system.
Both sides agreed to follow up in-depth technical discussions to formulate a programme of technical assistance in the Health Sector between Malta and Libya.
