'We want to ensure our clients are well served' – Liquigas Malta
Following a commotion this morning which saw gas distributors blocking Liquigas’s gas bottling plant in Qajjenza, the company said it continued to supply its cylinders to gas distributors.
Liquigas Malta continued to supply its cylinders to gas distributors notwithstanding, this morning’s situation, Liquigas said in a statement.
“The distributors’ trucks were also loaded with its competitor’s cylinders. This has been done because Liquigas wants to ensure its clients are constantly well served,” it said.
The gas distributors were protesting against Liquigas’s decision to use its trucks to distribute gas cylinders.
The protesting distributors said government should amend the law that allows a company that produces its own gas cylinders to transport them with its own trucks. They claimed the decision of Liquigas was in breach of the 1992 agreement.
Last week, Liquigas started distributing cylinders directly with its own truck in the Sliema district, "following serious complaints of bad service about the distributor of that particular area."
Liquigas decided to deliver cylinders directly in this area so as to improve the quality of service to its customers, it reiterated.
“Liquigas Malta has the right both to ensure that its clients are well served and to protect its commercial interests.”
