EPP leaders to meet in Meise ahead of European Council

EU heads of state and government and opposition leaders of the European People's Party (EPP) meeting today in Brussels.

The leaders, along with the Presidents of the European Council, European Commission, and European Parliament - Herman Van Rompuy, José Manuel Barroso and Jerzy Buzek - will meet today for the Summit of the Party, which will take place in Meise, Brussels.

The meeting is set to discuss the preparations of the European Council, scheduled for 23 October.

EPP President Wilfried Martens, will host the EPP Summit, attended by Secretary General Antonio López-Istúriz and members of the EPP Presidency.

Maltese Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi will also attend the summit.
