Members of Malta's religious communities, led in the main by Muslim imam Mohammed El Saadi and Auxiliary Bishop Charles J. Scicluna from the Maltese Catholic archdiocese, called for prayers to departed migrants who had perished at sea in the Mediterranan or were being forced to flee their homes due to persecution and war.
