A vox-pop conducted by MaltaToday this morning found people united in their claims that help, rather than forms of sanctioning, should be offered to first-time drug offenders.

The government last week issued a White Paper in which it proposed that drug users no longer be taken to court. Instead, these persons would not be considered criminals by the state, with professional help being offered to them.

Some persons, however, felt that repeat offenders should face legal consequences.
