Air Malta's Sabre based reservations system has returned to normal operations following a global outage this morning, Air Malta said this afternoon.

Earlier today Sabre systems - the service provider - confirmed the outage and reported an issue with its system early this morning. Sabre is used by more than 400 airlines worldwide.

Air Malta reassured passengers that none of its operations were affected, and said that it was in contact with Sabre to minimise any inconveniences to its passengers.

“The Maltese airline regrets any inconvenience caused to clients due to circumstances beyond its control and is increasing its resources at the call centre which can be contacted on +356 21 66 22 11,” read a statement by the airline.

The call centre is taking all enquiries and will be calling back the passengers once the system is up again.
