I think that whilst Miriam Dalli stated that she holds a doctorate, there is no indication of a doctorate on her linkedin profile, so, I would presume that she is still reading for the doctorate. I am quite impressed by her academic qualifications, let's hope her multiple responsibilities don't distract her from keeping the needs of citizens focused. Miriam Dalli's online profile is available at mt.linkedin.com/in/miriamdalli.

Meritocracy applied to women being appointed -what meritocracy ?Now we have the Germans enshrining in legislation a minimum quota of women on company's boards and this is perceived as a step forward and not as a retrograde step which is being applauded by womens' organisations here.So now ability, capability ,qualifications or competence are immaterial providing you are female! How will such a policy ensure adequate gender-equality as opposed to being perceived as simply being legally compelled to satisfy female number quotas on boards ?

Meritocracy? Unfortunately, Muscat has mislaid his dictionary and knows not the meaning of the word.
