At least 65 killed in suicide car bomb in Somalia

At least 65 people killed and more than 40 injured by huge suicide car bomb , near government complex in Mogadisku, Somali’s capital.

A truck carrying explosives driven into a gate was spotted by witnesses before it was detonated.

Islamist militant group al-Shabab claimed accountability for the attack, according to one of its spokesmen, which has been condemned by the UN-backed transitional government.

Although taking place near the government complex, no senior government officials were hurt during their meeting in the building.

Witnesses said that Somali government soldiers fired their guns into the air to move crowds away from other possible suicide vehicles rumoured to be in the area.
