Floriana comeback from two goals down to defeat Qormi

Floriana played a fantastic match after they fought back from two goals down to defeat Qormi 4-2.

With this victory, Floriana are now only three points away from securing their place in the Premier League next season.

Qormi took the lead on the 14th minute thanks to a header by Alfred Effiong off a cross by Moises Avila Perez.

Qormi doubled their lead on the 40th minute. Sacha Borg handled the ball inside the area to have the referee point to the penalty spot. Moises Avila Perez beat goalkeeper Tony Warner from the penalty spot.

On the 54th minute, Floriana managed to get back into the match. Igor Coronado had his powerful shot from outside the area beat goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia.

64 minutes into the match, Floriana made it 2-2. Off a cross by Clyde Borg, Steve Pisani made no mistake with his shot.

Qormi's match turned for the worse on the 69th minute when  Luke Sciberras was sent off.

On the 73rd minute, Clyde Borg made it 3-2 for Floriana with his goal from close range.

On the 85th minute, Floriana made sure they secured the points when Steve Pisani found the back of the net with his low shot.

Steve Pisani was voted BOV Player of the match.

In the other match, Sliema registered a narrow win over Mosta.

A goal on the 70th minute sealed the points for Sliema. A powerful shot by Ian Zammit was blocked by goalkeeper Jeffrey Farrugia, off the rebound Ivan Woods easily placed the ball at the back of the net.

With this victory, Sliema move up to third place.

Jeffrey Farrugia was voted BOV Player of the Match.
