Tarxien and Vittoriosa share the points

Tarxien and Vittoriosa played to a 1-1 draw in a match that took place at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

Tarxien managed to take the lead after just five minutes of play. A powerful shot by Carlo Mamo was blocked by a defender, but off the rebound Fernando Lopes Alcantara beat goalkeeper Mario Muscat with his powerful shot from close range.

Vittoriosa managed to score the equaliser on the 20th minute after they were awarded a penalty. Fernando Lopes Alcantara brought Gilbert Martin down inside the area and the referee immediately pointed to the penalty spot.

From the penalty spot, Oscar Alvarado Guerrero beat goalkeeper Nicky Vella with his shot.

Two minutes before the first half ended, Tarxien were unlucky not to score when Demba Toure's powerful shot hit the woodwork to deny them the goal that would regain their lead.

Both teams continued to create goal-scoring opportunities but both teams would have to settle for a draw.
