Floriana back to winning ways with victory over Qormi

Floriana are back to winning ways after they defeated Qormi 3-2 in a close contested match.

This victory is a breath of fresh air for Floriana as this is their first victory in their last six matches.

For Qormi, their dismal for continues as they have now gone nine matches without a victory.

Floriana took the lead early as just after nine minutes of play they managed to get on the scoreboard. Off a pass by Steve Pisani, Diogo Pinheiro de Sousa controlled the ball to then beat goalkeeper Steve Sultana with his shot.

Qormi had a good chance to score just two minutes later but Leighton Grech's shot was saved by goalkeeper Daniel Hanford.

Qormi continued to increase the pressure on Floriana, but they protected their lead till the end of the first half.

Eight minutes after the start of the second half, Qormi managed to score the equaliser. Off a pass by Jorge Pereira da Silva, Leighton Grech advanced into the area to then beat goalkeeper Daniel Hanford with his shot.

Floriana regained the lead on the 58th minute. Off a pass by Igor Coronado, Diogo Pinheiro de Sousa had his low shot beating the on rushing Steve Sultana.

Floriana made it 3-1 on the 75th minute when Qormi's Duncan Pisani committed an own goal when he attempted to clear a pass by Igor Coronado.

On the 84th minute, Qormi managed to reduce Floriana's lead when off a corner by Gabriel da Silva, Alfred Effiong's header left no chance for goalkeeper Daniel Hanford.
