The playmaker moved as a free agent from AC Milan to the Bianconeri in 2011, leading their midfield as they won three consecutive league titles.

Pirlo has scored 14 goals, 12 of which were free-kicks, in his three seasons with Juve. He won the 2006 World Cup and, on 109 caps, is playing in his third World Cup in Brazil, where Italy start Saturday against England.

Juventus did not disclose Pirlo's pay under the new contract. He was reportedly earning 3.5 million euros (4.7 million dollars) a year.
