Hibernians controlled the match from the start.

Both teams produced some decent chances to score, but Hibernians managed to take the lead on the 25th minute. Off a pass by Edison Luis dos Santos, Jorge Pereira da Silva beat goalkeeper Sean Mintoff with his shot.

Hibernians managed to double their lead just five minutes later when Clayton Failla’s perfect freekick left no chance for goalkeeper Sean Mintoff.

With Hibernians leading by two goals, they were in total control of the match.

Two minutes into the second half Hibernians thought they scored the third goal of the match but the referee thought otherwise. Off a pass by Edison Luis dos Santos, Jorginho beat Mintoff with his shot but referee Adrian Azzopardi ruled the ball had gone out of play when Edison delivered the pass.

On the 66th minute, Hibernians sealed their victory when they made it 3-0.

Off a freekick by Clayton Failla, Johann Bezzina had his low shot beat goalkeeper Sean Mintoff.
