Hibernians managed to double their lead just five minutes later when Clayton Failla’s perfect freekick left no chance for goalkeeper Sean Mintoff.

With Hibernians leading by two goals, they were in total control of the match.

Two minutes into the second half Hibernians thought they scored the third goal of the match but the referee thought otherwise. Off a pass by Edison Luis dos Santos, Jorginho beat Mintoff with his shot but referee Adrian Azzopardi ruled the ball had gone out of play when Edison delivered the pass.
