Four and easy for the Greens

Floriana maintained the pressure on fourth placed Balzan as they registered an easy 4-1 victory on strugglers Naxxar who are occupying the lower ends of the table.

Naxxar have picked up just one point from their last two matches and can find themselves in deep relegation trouble if they fail to win their next match next weekend.

The Greens had not the brightest of starts as they found themselves a goal behind after 19 minutes when Gilmar released Daren Falzon who beat keeper Senatore with a low shot.

Keeping in mind that a win against their opponents would again put pressure on Balzan, Floriana started to hold the initiative after finding themselves behind and it was no surprise they managed to draw level six minutes later through Igor Conorado who beat the Naxxar keeper with a rising shot after being served by Matteo Picciollo.

Floriana stormed ahead just before half time when off a cross by Malta International Conor Borg, it was again Coronado who hit home from close range.

On 55 minutes, Coronado made it three to highlight a brilliant individual performance who beat Azzopardi for the third time with a shot from outside the area.

Just before the hour mark, the usual Matteo Picciollo put his name on the scoresheet through a brilliant shot from outside the box to make it 4-1 for the Greens.
